Man threatened with a firearm while stopping at a stop street

The man drove past the Hilux but the vehicle followed him

It was around 06:40 in the morning when a man driving at Van Dyk’s Drift Road was threatened with a firearm.

The incident happened on Friday, July 7. The 32-year-old was travelling in a Mercedes Benz Sprinter when a Hilux overtook the Sprinter and drove in front of the vehicle.

When the man arrived at the stop street, the driver of the Hilux allegedly threatened the 32-year-old with a firearm. The man drove past the Hilux but the vehicle followed him.

The Hilux driver drove at the same pace as the man’s vehicle and aimed the firearm at the Sprinter’s wheels this time. The victim could not be reached for comment.

Pointing of a firearm case was opened at the Witbank Police Station.
