Witbank Police are looking for leads concerning a murder that happened a month ago.
On Monday, August 7 around 12:43 a 33-year-old passerby was on his way to Old Coronation to visit a friend.
As he was walking in the veldt he saw a man sleeping face down. The passerby went on to check what was happening and he saw flies on top of the man’s head with his body not moving.
Near the man was a plastic bag that had cans of tinned fish and Weetbix. The passerby also noticed there was blood on the man’s head. He then called the police. An ambulance service was also on scene and declared the man dead.
The deceased had socks on without shoes. He had an open wound on the head.
He was wearing a blue trouser that had reflector designs and a blue jersey. His right hand was broken and his left leg was injured.
