Robbers aim to quench their pallets

Two business robberies were reported in which robbers went as far as to steal a fridge, not to mention large amounts of liquor.

On September 20 a business in Springbok Street was robbed at about 23:00.

While on duty at the access control a guard noticed a white Chevrolet utility bakkie approach the gate, the vehicle had six occupants.

The occupants restrained the guard and bound his hands and feet; they then proceeded to loot the business after breaking the locks to gain access.


Robbers have taken to robbing liquor stores, one such store in Springbok Street was recently robbed.

They stole a large fridge, a toolbox, hi-fi system, television and 20 bottles of red wine, they then fled the scene leaving the guard bound.

Another business situated in Klipfontein was robbed the following evening.
The security guard on duty checked in at 06:15 to report.

He made his way around the business and noticed the alarm had been turned off and that the cash office door was half open.

On further inspection he found that the safe had been ground open, the suspects had gained access to the business through the small window next to the JoJo tank. The suspects managed to subdue the security guard, who was later found to have sustained serious injuries.

The suspects looted the business and according to footage entered and left the business at about 01:00 and 04:00 respectively.
