
Recently a job scam has been circulating promising people work at Kusile Power Station.
A job applicant said he was told to come to Kusile Power Station on Monday, October 6 at 10:30 for an interview. The physical address of Kusile was given and that the position of an artisan electrician was available.
The applicant was told to bring along his I.D and his Grade 12 certificate and other certificates. He was also told to dress formally and to confirm his attendance by calling the HR named and phone number included
The applicant was further told to deposit money for ‘cold drink’ if he wanted to secure a place for the interview. He was also told that he must make it quick as many parents have already deposited the ‘cold drink’ money in the bank.
Further inquiries were made at Kusile about the job interview and the applicant was told that there were no jobs or internships available at Kusile.
“We caution our community to take note and guard against being victims of any recruitment scam. Eskom nor its contractors require compensation for recruitment of any positions. Recruitment and selection is a free process where candidates contest fairly. The scam has been forwarded to Recruitment Department and Security Department, further investigations are being conducted to ensure the perpetrators are found and brought to book,” reads a statement from Kusile Power Station.
