Models set the standard at national competitions

They all received golden tickets to perform in front of international scouts in April.

b-U Models ended the 2017 competitive year with a bang, with exceptional results in two national competitions.

Eleven models competed in four categories at the annual Anua Rising Star Talent Showcase, held on December 2 at the Rockwood Theatre in Pretoria East.

Keila Matthee and Nelisiwe Lekhuleni placed first and second in the female 13 – 18 years category at the annual Anua Rising Star Talent Showcase, held on December 2.

Only 20 models in each category were selected to compete at the showcase during regional qualifying rounds.

All 11 models from b-U Models finished in the top six of their respective categories.

They all received golden tickets to perform in front of international scouts in April for an opportunity to travel to Las Vegas.

The results were as follows:

Female 13 – 18 years: Nelisiwe Lekhuleni (first place), Keila Matthee (second place), Lesemarie Griffen (third place), Jomari Jordaan (fourth place), Lucindi van Heerden and Zanna Jordaan (sixth place).

Male 13 – 18 years: Siyabonga Khumalo (first place).

Female 19+: Mable Mahlangu (first place), Melany Bodibane (second place) and Lené Erasmus (third place).

Male 19+: Mahlatse Mondlane (first place).

Two models also competed at the Summer Heat National Awards at the beautiful ARTO Theatre in Pretoria.

They attended a boot camp consisting of various workshops, photo shoots and rehearsals from December 7 to 11.

Jomari walked away as the winner in the Teen Model of the Year category, and Lucindi placed 10th, a mere 11% behind Jomari.
