Trolley is doing fine

The puppy, dubbed Trolley, is doing fine.

The puppy, dubbed Trolley, is doing fine.

SPCA inspector Nicolous Mahlangu told WITBANK NEWS that he will keep a close eye on the puppy that was trapped in a shopping trolley over the weekend.

The puppy was left in a trolley because the owner said he poohs all over and slips through underneath the gate.

“If you want a puppy, you should know they pooh. That is no excuse for keeping the puppy in a shopping trolley,” Mahlangu said.

He visited the house in Tennyson Street early on Monday, January 8 and said the crossbreed puppy was running and playing after his horrible ordeal over the weekend when the temperature reached 34 degrees Celsius.

“I will do regular follow-up visits,” Mahlangu promised as he educated Trolley’s owner about vaccinations and proper care of pets.

Trolley the crossbreed pup was left inside this shopping trolley in the scorching heat over the weekend.

WITBANK NEWS’ attempts to get hold of Trolley’s owner were fruitless.

In another incident Ms Sandra Rossouw made a gruesome discovery when she noticed a garbage bag that looked out of place in Pioneer Street last week. Upon investigating she found a dead dog.

“I do not understand how sick a person can be. To throw your dog-baby in a garbage bag and dump him next to the road is inhumane,” she said.

She picked the dog up and buried it.

“The SPCA has disposal facilities. It only costs R120 and we will dispose of dead animals in the correct manner,” Mahlangu said.

The SPCA is struggling with their landline and their email is also down. You can reach them on 083 657 2421.
