Man walks out of chiropractor with items

A reward is being offered for the return of the stolen laptop that was taken from a chiropractor’s rooms in Geringer Street.

A reward is being offered for the return of the stolen laptop that was taken from a chiropractor’s rooms in Geringer Street.

On Thursday, January 11 a chiropractor was working alone at her business premises as her receptionist was on leave.

While the chiropractor was working in the front of the office an unknown man walked in and said that he was from Telkom and needed to check the lines.

Without hesitation the chiropractor agreed for the “technician” to check the lines, as there had been various reports of faulty lines.

The woman stood up from behind the counter and allowed the “technician” access to the phone.

As the woman continued working at the counter she never noticed what the “technician” was doing.
Then all of a sudden she noticed that he had walked from the back of the practise.

Do you recognise this man?

He then told the woman that he just went to the back to check the box and that he was now waiting for a phone call to check if the lines are working again. Not over thinking the situation the woman carried on working.

When the woman checked again, the “technician” had disappeared taking a laptop, cell phone and a kit bag with motorbike kit in it.

The laptop that was stolen came from the United States of America and is a Gateway NV55C 034 laptop.

If anyone finds the laptop please contact Deon van Vuuren on 083 437 7315: there is a R1000 reward for its return.

Telkom’s crime line was notified of the situation that occurred and they said they would look into it.
