A complainant of Hlalanikahle Extension 3 became a victim of the latest car hijacking when his Toyota Quantum was hijacked.

The victim reported that he was with Lewis Nhlanale, Elias Mavila and Robert Moqwango driving a white Quantum and stopped at the gate of Mr Solly Talane whom they had come to collect.

The incident happened on Thursday, January 11 at about 21:40. While waiting for Talane to come out, three unknown suspects approched them, one with a firearm and he came to the driver’s side, opened the door and instructed him to sit in the passanger’s seat, lay down and not to look at them.

They drove very fast and one suspect seated next to him was talking on the phone telling someone that they were coming.

They stopped at a certain place where they took out the battery and the tracking device.

Later it was silent and he realised that the suspects were gone and they have abandoned the vehicle.

They saw the police coming and were taken to the station where a case of hijacking was reported.

The suspect also took R800 in cash, as well as a Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone
