Children seem to be the target

Children are our most prized possession, but what if something had to happen?

Children are our most prized possession, but what if something had to happen? Last week WITBANK NEWS reported that two children were taken from their home in Hlalanikahle.

On Saturday, February 3 a family were in a shop when the mother suspected something strange about the people ‘shopping’ too close to them. Sarah* said that a male and female, posing as a couple were too close for comfort while she was shopping with her family.

“In the beginning I just thought they were being rude. But then I realised that they were hovering over my trolley again, with the children inside,” Sarah said. “Afterwards, we went to the mall and I saw the same people inside the shop, when my husband went to fetch another trolley. He went outside with my four-year-old and I had my one-year-old with me. We went to the children’s isle in the shop when my little one-year-old stopped dead in her tracks and looked at me,” Sarah continued.

She then told the security what happened and when outside, they realised that the three ‘suspects’ had multiplied, as six were standing together, looking at them.

“When people asked me how do I know they wanted my children, what else would they want? I had absolutely no jewellery on me, no phone, no wallet and no bag. What else could they want?”

Another incident happened at a local pre-school in town. Unfortunately the school was not available for comment before going to print.
According to information received, a person wearing black pants with a blue shirt and a blue cap allegedly tried to take a child from the school on Friday, February 2. The information received states that the child cried and did not want to go with abovementioned person, because she did not know him.

The parent then luckily arrived at school and confronted the person, saying that: ‘I do not know you, what do you want with my child?’

The teachers involved did not see whether the person drove away in a vehicle or if he left on foot.
