Robbers know very well that foreign shops are easy targets as they keep their money in their shops.

Another foreign shop has been robbed in Vosman. The victim reported that Sunday, March 25 at about 18:30 his shop was robbed. The robbery took place at Extension 5 in Vosman.

The 37 year old Pakistani national reported to the police that he was at his business premises with his cousin when an unknown suspect entered the shop. The suspect was drunk and was holding a beer bottle, he poured the beer on the floor and when the complainant escorted him out he refused to go. All of a sudden four other suspects entered the shop and one of them had a stick while the other was armed with a knife. They threatened them with the knife and demanded money and his cousin refused.

The suspect with a stick started to assault him with the stick on his head and also threatened to stab him. The suspects jumped over the counter, took the money and other items and fled the scene on foot.

They took away R3000 in cash, cigarettes and airtime vouchers and the value of all items taken is estimated to be R7000 and no one has been arrested.

Constable Khomotso Maluleke, Vosman Police Station corporate communication official says the police are asking the community and shop owners to work together with police, closing their tuck shops early to prevent business robbery.

If community members see a group of unknown males at their places walking like they don’t know where they are going, or looking suspicious, they can report to police immediately so that the police assist. If there is any information to lead the investigation community are allowed to report and they will stay anonymous.
