Hijackers makes double sure they have time to get away with your vehicle, by dropping the victim off after a wild joy ride.
Two similar cases of hijackings that took place the past week in and around eMalahleni stated that the hijackers first drive around with the victim in the vehicle. On June 26 a victim was the target at Diederiecks Street’s robot when he allegedly was on his way home.
“There was a silver Polo in front of my vehicle and suddenly two men appeared next to my window, coming from the Polo,” the victim that wants to stay anonymous said.
According to the victim the one suspect demanded him to open the door of his vehicle or else he will shoot and then pointed a firearm.
“As I was stuck behind the vehicle in front of me, I played along and I did as they asked. When they climbed into my car they further instructed me to lie down and not look at them,” he added.

It was after a while and a few questions from the suspects, such as if the vehicle has any tracking device that they dropped the victim off.
“They dropped me off in an unknown place, taking everything from me. My clothes, my ID, bankcards and my vehicle,” said by the victim.
In another incident on June 27 another victim along with his girlfriend was threatened and then hijacked by two armed suspects.
It is alleged that the couple was on their way to the parking lot after dinner when two men came from no where and threatened them with firearms. Demanding them to get in their vehicle just to keep them in the car and drive off.
The couple was dropped off on an open road where they walked to the police station to report the incident
