A drunk driver bashed through the wall of a residential property in Model Park.

“A call came through on our SACCW open channel from a worried resident in Model Park, he explained that a car smashed through his wall, simply reversed and sped off,” explained Maureen Scheepers, Operations Coordinator from the South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW.)

Luckily the bumper of the car fell off after the crash and the number plate could be used to track the driver.

SAPS were notified and they arrived on the scene, they then tried to find the vehicle as they were informed that the vehicle is registered at a plot in Jackaroo sector 1. Unfortunately they could not find the driver and they had to stand down.

One of the SACCW responders, JP Moore, refused to give up and he was determined to find the guilty driver.

“I asked if there was any oil marks that we could follow – as we followed the oil tracks, we found parts of the car that fell off along the way. We eventually reached Wellington Street and that was where we found the car,” explained JP Moore.

They then notified the police.
