
Another week and more druggies are off the streets. During the past weekend, between 17 and 19 August, 15 arrests were made by the Witbank SAPS with either possession or dealing in drugs.
On August 19 one arrest was made in the Central Business District (CBD). Police stated that they were patrolling around 21:00 when they received information about a person dealing in drugs in Van Deventer Steet. Upon arrival they found five ‘rocks’ in the possession of a man they searched.
On August 18 two arrests were made. Police responded to a call in Allenby Street where a person was smoking dagga. Police found the suspect, who told them that he was just about to smoke the dagga in his possession. It was four pokes of dagga. Another suspect was arrested for possession of dagga after he was searched and he presented two pokes of dagga.

On Friday, August 17, 12 suspects were arrested by Witbank SAPS. One poke of dagga was found in the possession of a suspect, with the approximate street value of R50. In Coronation, another suspect was arrested for possession of one poke of dagga and one other suspect had seven pokes of dagga in his possession. The approximate street value of last mentioned is R140.
Another suspect was arrested for being in possession of dagga while two other suspects were searched and two pokes of dagga found in their possession.

In Smuts Street a man was arrested after he was searched and dagga was found. Four more arrests were made on that day, with police confiscating dagga with a street value of close to R1000. A man was arrested on the same day with 16 pokes of dagga in his possession, with an approximate street value of R800.
