Police in Vosman are investigating four cases of business robberies.

The eMalahleni municipal office in Vosman was also robbed.

The police were told that two of the employees and security officers were at the offices. The cashier was busy balancing the money for the day as it was supposed to be collected by a security company. The cashier left the office due to the bad weather and left the security door open.

She was surprised to see three armed men grabbing the other cashier and the security officer and a suspect pointed them with a firearm, the other suspect came closer to her and pointed her with a firearm as well and they demanded money that was already in the bags. They took the R82 610 in cash and left the scene. The mode of transport used by the suspects was not seen.

The robbery was on Tuesday, October 9 at about 16:05 at the eMalahleni offices in Vosman in Extension 4.

Another robbery happened at Freddy Supermarket in KwaGuqa Extension 10. A 32 year-old Ethiopian was robbed on Tuesday, October 9 at about 14:30. He reported that he was inside the shop when he was confronted by four suspects who entered the shop. The suspects pointed a firearm at him and demanded money. They then took R4 700 in cash, a CCTV camera, Samsung J4 and Samsung A5 cell phones. The value of all the items taken is R7 400. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Another case of robbery was reported and it happened at Ferrobank Logistics in Moses Kotane Road. The robbery was on Wednesday, October 10 at 23:50. The 37 year-old victim reported that he was at the area when he was approached by eight suspects. Two of the suspects pointed him with a firearm, then took his cellphone and tied him with shoe laces. They proceeded taking him to the nearest room and asked for his supervisor and also tied him up as well.

They then fled the scene with the complainant’s vehicle, a BMW with registration number JJM 196 MP and a cell phone. The value of all the items taken is R180 000.

Another foreigner national was robbed at his shop. The shop was robbed on Thursday, October 11 at about 06:00.

The 23 year-old Somalian was robbed at his Jabulani General Dealer in Vosman. He told the police that he was at his shop when four suspects entered the shop. Three of the suspects pointed firearms at him and ordered him to lay down and demanded money. They then took R2 000 in cash, airtime vouchers and a service petrol card.

The value of all items taken is R10 000. The suspects then fled on foot.
No arrests in all the four cases and police are investigating.
