A suspect who pretended to be a police official, is still waiting to hear his fate.

A suspect who pretended to be a police official, is still waiting to hear his fate.

The suspect was caught by members from the police and SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) after he allegedly intimidated foreigners and pretended to be a police official.

This arrest was made early in July and he’s been in court ever since. His case was moved from Court B to Regional Court and he briefly appeared in Regional Court on October 9.

The case was postponed to October 16 and postponed again to November 20. This is for the accused to consult with his lawyer.

Capt Eddie Hall, media spokesperson previously advised foreigners to come forward and open cases if they are being intimidated and targeted.

He added that no police officer will ask for money before or during an ‘arrest’.

He said that a victim must immediately open a case if this happens.
