eMalahleni has lost four precious lives due to criminal activity in the past week.
The first murder was that of a 40-year old security guard at a mine outside of Duvha who was ostensibly killed during a business robbery gone wrong on October 17 at approximately 01:30.
The second incident in which two lives were lost took place at Old Coronation on October 18; Witbank SAPS were deployed after two civilians heard shots and upon arriving at K27 found the bodies of a man and a woman outside on the floor; the motive for their murders is still currently unclear.

The third murder took place on October 21; the police were alerted to the homicide after receiving a call from Witbank General Hospital which had received the body of the deceased.
The deceased’s friends allege that they were sitting at the side of the road around a fire when three unknown men approached them and started letting off rounds.
The victim was shot through the abdomen and had arrived at the hospital already deceased.
