The horrible accident that occurred on OR Tambo on the second last day of 2018 left two families with unanswered questions.
It is still unclear of how the accident that claimed two lives happened on the morning of December 30 on the “turn of death”.
One of the people that lost her life in the accident was the beautiful and well-known teacher of Robert Carruthers School, Ms Gracious Nkonyane.
“It is with great sadness that we inform the RCS community of the passing of one of our colleagues and ex-scholars, Ms Gracious Nkonyane. She passed away last night after being involved in a serious car accident a few days ago. Over the years at RCS she crept into hearts of her peers, colleagues and learners. She was an outstanding student teacher and a remarkable sports coach. Indeed a devastating loss for our school. Her beautiful face, friendly smile, willingness to assist everyone and bubbly personality will be greatly missed by us all. We send our sincerest condolences to her loved ones,” a message announced the sad news on social media.
Unfortunately the family of the other deceased could not be reached before going to print.
*Gracious’s funeral will be held today at the Peniel Community Church in Extension 5, starting at 16:00.
