Three more children poisoned, two die

Lebogang and Njabulo died.

The Sibanyoni house was not filled with laughter and jokes this past December holiday.

Instead the family is trying to come to terms with the death of two of their family members.

Lebogang Letihage (16), Njabulo Dhlamini (13) and Lesedi Letihage (8) were apparently poisoned by their 35-year-old mother while they were living in Moroka in Soweto.

Lebogang and Njabulo died.

Brig Leonard Hlathi, provincial spokesperson said the woman ran to hide at Vosman.

The woman’s sister, Mrs Lizel Sibanyoni told WITBANK NEWS that Njabulo died in a hospital is Soweto. Lesedi and Lebogang were brought to Vosman to visit their grandparents.

“On January 2, Lebogang did not feel well and started coughing. An ambulance was dispatched and he was admitted to Witbank Hospital. He died the next day,” Lizel said choking back the tears.

Lesedi now stays with her uncle, Mr Peter Sibanyoni.

Lizel said her sister looked stressed and on December 31 confessed that she poisoned her children.

Mr Sipho Sibanyoni was heartbroken when he said that he misses the boys terribly.

“We looked forward having them by us during holidays. They were busy and kept us on our toes. They were more than just my sister’s children, they were my best friends,” Sipho said.

The woman was arrested by Vosman Police and taken back to Moroka where the incident had occurred.
