Bodies were scattered all over the road and one person was trapped inside a vehicle at the accident scene that claimed three lives.

The accident happened on Sunday, January 27 at 10:45 on the corner of Price Road and the Old Ogies Road (R544).
It’s still unclear how the accident happened that sent six passengers flying off the back of the bakkie.
An eyewitness said: “The accident happened in front of me, the truck tried to avoid the bakkie but it was too late, the driver of the bakkie did not stop at the stop sign. It was really a bad morning.”

In the accident report the driver of the truck alleged that he was travelling along the Old Ogies Road, when the bakkie came out from Price Road.
It’s alleged that the driver of the bakkie did not stop at the stop sign and went straight over.
According to the truck driver he tried to avoid the bakkie, but it was too late and collided into the side of the vehicle.
The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries but he was shocked.
On the back of the bakkie, five of the six passengers were treated on scene and transported to Witbank Provincial Hospital.
One woman was declared dead one scene; she was later identified as Thobile Agreement Ngwenya.
The driver of the bakkie was entrapped in the bakkie, he was removed from the vehicle and also transported to a nearby hospital.

Late on Sunday afternoon two of the passengers died in Witbank Provincial Hospital.
They were identified as Zwelihle Mthokozisi Sikhosana, (23) and Henry Vusumuzi Mahlangu, (26).
A case of culpable homicide has been opened and the police and the authorities are busy with an investigation.
