At approximately 13:00 on Tuesday, February 12 on the corner of Bethal Street and Mandela Road, a truck carrying bricks careened into a Volkswagen taking paving and a traffic light with it.
Legacy Emergency Specialists were on scene within minutes and swiftly assisted the injured woman inside the Volkswagen.
The truck driver was assisted by ER24 and Trauma Rescue.
Eye witnesses on the scene reported seeing the truck driver allegedly skipping the red light further up in Mandela Road prior to the accident, though the exact cause of the truck’s alleged erratic driving remains unknown.
