Cables stolen, still not fixed

The street lights are out because of this

A resident of Palm Street in Die Heuwel, has complained about live cables in Palm Street.

He stated that cables were stolen in the area a couple of months ago, but the live cables are open for everyone to see.

These cables work on a day-night switch as they feed the street lights.

In the evening, these cables are live and a danger to anyone in the area.

The street lights are out because of this, and residents in the area have suffered numerous break-ins due to non-lighting in the street.

The municipality have been informed about the problem, but on March 5 the resident mentioned again that the cables have not been fixed.

It was bought under the attention of the municipality again.

Mr Kingdom Mabuza, municipal spokesperson for the municipality said: “I have once again raised the issue of dangling cables with our technical department and I hope they will attend to that matter without any further delay.”
