Six arrested for drug possession

Six males were arrested for mandrax and heroin possession in three consecutive days.
On March 13, two men were arrested in Lukin Street in the CBD and the accused were both allegedly in possession of mandrax.
One of the men was arrested at 3 Lukin Street after 10 small red wrapped plastics containing drugs with a street value of R500 were allegedly found on him.
The other man was arrested at the corner of Lukin and Collyer Streets with the drugs at the value of R1 090.
On the same day an arrest was allegedly made at a local butchery but the drugs found were unspecified.
On March 14, two males were arrested for possession of heroin.
The police were tipped off that there was alleged drug dealing at a house in Allanby Street.
The police went to the house and found two men.
They asked for consent to search the place and allegedly found heroin worth R12 000 on one of the men and arrested him.
The police soon after got another tip off that there is a man selling drugs at 15 Allanby Street.
The police asked for consent to search the place and allegedly found heroin worth R5 000 and also arrested the man.
On March 15, a man allegedly ran after seeing a police vehicle around 15:05 in the afternoon.
The police ran after him and searched him after they have caught him.
The police allegedly found five small wrapped plastic bags containing a substance suspected to be heroin on the man.
Witbank SAPS Captain Eddie Hall highlighted that the police are winning the battle against drugs and drug dealers in eMalahleni.
He emphasized that the community of eMalahleni plays a big role in catching law breakers, especially drug dealers and users.
“We do rely on the community to provide us with any information relating to drug dealers and this way there is combined effort between the police and the community in catching criminals.”
He added that individuals or groups can remain anonymous, if they wish to, when they report drug dealings or any other crimes.
