Women and school girls secured for 10 years

PrincessD menstrual cups co-owned and endorsed by Caster Semenya

School girls at Ilanga Secondary School and women from Eyethu Skills Development Centre received free PrincessD menstrual cups.

The hand out took place on Wednesday, March 13.

The Burgh group and the Eyethu Mine sponsored Ilanga grade 8 girls and female teachers with 90 cups and 14 cups to women from the Eyethu Skills Development Centre.

PrincessD menstrual cups co-owned and endorsed by Caster Semenya, will last the women up to 10 years without having to buy sanitary pads or tampons anymore.

Mrs Johannesburg 2019 Shamila Ramjawan and Miss Gauteng 2019 Daksha Ramjawan gave presentations of how the menstrual cups work.

They assured the girls and women that menstrual cups are the way to go.

Having the cup comes with a lot of advantages such as saving money because it’s reusable and offers up to 12 hours of leak-free protection.

The cups come in two sizes, size one for girls and women under the age of 30 and size two for women above the age of 30.

Using the cup is also a way to protect the environment as it does not decompose like sanitary pads and a cup is equivalent to approximately
3 000 tampons or sanitary pads.
