Easter death toll rises to eleven in Mpumalanga

Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Pat Ngomane has reiterated his call to motorists to use the road with extreme caution following the death of three people in a head on collision last night.
The collision occurred on R40 Road between Bushbuckridge and Accornhoek between two sedans around 23:00.

Three were seriously injured and are receiving treatment at the hospital.
Furthermore two pedestrians’lives were abruptly brought to an end in two separate incidences on R568 Road near Kwamhlanga and N12 Road near Emalahleni.
The MEC believes that with increased co-operation from all road users, a huge impact could be made in curbing these crashes.
He also bemoaned that the province has recorded three deadly head on collision saying with increased tolerance among road users lives will not be needlessly lost.
” We must all work together. Motorists need to extremely cautious and take road safety seriously so that unnecessary loss of lives is avoided,” Ngomane said.
He has further encouraged traffic law enforcers not to be deterred in their quest to make our roads safer amid these crashes.
