MEC Busi Shiba presents full school uniform

The executive mayor urged the people to cast their votes on election day so that their lives can be improved as that was their voice

Happiness was written all over the faces of the school children of Jeremiah Mdaka Primary School when they were presented with full school uniforms.

The presentation was held on Tuesday, April 16 by the Mpumalanga MEC for Social Development Ms Busi Shiba together with eMalahleni executive mayor Cllr Linah Malatjie in partnership with SASSA.

In her welcoming address the executive mayor thanked the parents for supporting the children and encouraged the children who are future leaders to focus on their studies.

She said she was happy to be part of people to change their lives and to show love and to bring relief pressure to parents.

“Because we are not equal, some of the parents are unemployed and we have come here to share the little we have with you. We won’t be able to reach all of you but we have come to show that our government cares. We now have a feeding scheme up to secondary level and bringing relief levels to teachers to focus on teaching our children.”

The executive mayor urged the people to cast their votes on election day so that their lives can be improved as that was their voice.

She further thanked the SGB and promise that as the local government they will always support the school.

MEC Shiba said everybody must play their part in reaching out as the call by president Ramaphosa of Thuma Mina.

She said they have provided about 1 461 school uniforms to children in the Nkangala district in their effort to improve the lives of children.

She also stated that they were using local service providers to provide employment to local people.

“As parents you must look and think of opportunities to set out cooperatives. We are providing full school uniforms with underwear and the executive mayor has also added sanitary towels for our girls, it’s a full package. We are doing our best to support our children so that they can attend and focus on their education. Wishing them all the best in their future,” added MEC Shiba.

School uniforms were also presented at Nkonjane Combined School, Zacheus Malaza Secondary School and Spring Valley Primary School.
