“Getting to know a person does not mean you are already dating or in a relationship,” said *Bohlokwa Tieli, a rape victim.
Tieli (30) was recently raped by a man who was courting her.
She was getting to know the man before she can decide whether pursue a relationship with him or not.
She was unlucky on Monday, April 15; she got to see what kind of a man he was.
Tieli had agreed to meet up with the man and he came with his four friends.
She noticed that she knows one of the friends and the man started accusing her for cheating on him.
“He slapped me twice and threatened to stab me with his knife for what he called cheating. I was not in any relationship with him,” she said.
She said they walked with the four friends for a short while and separated before they reached a certain house.
“When we got to the place, he demanded me to take off my clothes and get into bed with him. I took off my clothes and got into the bed” she said.
The man began to touch her and raped her without using protection.
“He would put on the condom and then take it off again and he did this for both times he had raped me,” she said.
“He fell asleep after the first time on Monday and he raped me again the following morning.”
She was only able to go home on Tuesday April 16 at 06:30 in the morning.
She reported the incident later on that day.
The man was arrested on the Thursday, April 18 and appeared in court the same day.
She would like to urge women to be careful.
“Never trust a stranger. I only knew this man for one day but that did not stop him from hurting me the way he did,” Tieli said.
