Robbers are in it for the money

Robbers are taking it to the next level though, robbing residents of our city of their money

With the horrible South African economy we are all desperate for money.

Robbers are taking it to the next level though, robbing residents of our city of their money.

Just before month-end, on Monday, April 29 a victim was robbed of the money she had in her possession.

She told police that she was on her way home when a red Polo with local plates stopped next to her.

She told police that there were four occupants inside the vehicle and three got out, one with a firearm and the other with a knife.

The victim continued by saying that the suspects took her bag, with cash inside and her cell phone.

She concluded by saying that the suspects left when they got what they wanted.

In another incident on April 26 the victim was with friends when they were approached by three armed men.

The complainant said that the men demanded everything they got, including an undisclosed amount of cash.

The complainant said the suspects ran away with the money, a laptop and personal belongings.

Capt Eddie Hall, media spokesperson for the Witbank Police said: “Residents must refrain from carrying valuables with them, like cash, laptops and anything that can attract the attention of possible robbers.”
