When you work hard for your money, it’s not pleasant when someone threatens you with a gun and demands your cash and belongings.
Unfortunately, this is still happening daily.
Two cases of business robberies were reported to Witbank Police Station, both happened on Saturday, May 11.
In the first incident the victim told police that they were busy in the salon when two males came in, pretending to be customers and asked for a hair cut.
The victim told them that they should have a seat, her brother will be with them shortly, where one suspect stood at the door.
As the victim went to the back, the suspects took the customers’ phones and the victim’s money as well as her passport.
The clients in the shop started screaming out of pure fear and panic.
It is then reported that the robbers shot one shot outside the shop and ran to their vehicle.
According to witnesses the suspects were driving a black Hyundai with a GP registration number.
At another business a security guard noticed something strange at the premise and informed the owner.
The guard noticed the back gate was open and a pad lock has gone missing.
After the victim informed the owner, he reportedly heard someone saying:
“drop the phone or you will be killed.”
The victim was threatened by three unknown males telling him to hand over his cell phone.
The victim added that his hands were tied with shoe laces and the suspects wanted to know who stays in the house where they led the victim to.
The victim told police that the alarm went off and the suspects fled the scene.
No victims could be reached by time of going to print and no arrests have been made.
These cases are currently still under investigation.
