Special vote applications open for 2026 elections
Apply to cast your special vote before applications close on October 12.
Voters in eMalahleni who need to cast their votes before the official 2026 Local Government Elections day can apply to cast a special vote.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) announced that special vote applications for the upcoming election are open and set to close on October 12 at 17:00.
A special vote allows an eligible registered voter who cannot vote at their voting station on election day, November 4, to cast their ballot beforehand.
Registered voters who may apply include:
people living with a disability,pregnant women,elderly people, andvoters with work-related commitments.
Applications can be submitted online via the IEC portal.
