Waya Waya state their concerns

The Waya Waya Community Movement stated their concerns regarding the situation at the Department of Home Affairs.
They took to the streets in front of Home Affairs on Tuesday, May 28 handing over a memorandum under leadership of President Lucas Chippa Mtsweni.
The reason for this, according to the Waya Waya Community Movement is that they are supporting residents who are victims of the bad treatment at the Department of Home Affairs and they attended the protest to share their bad experiences.
The movement believes that the community has lost trust and confidence in these offices.

The grievances included the poor service delivery rendering and failing to uphold the values of the Department of Home Affairs.
The Waya Waya Community Movement demands people-centred and caring service, their professionalism and integrity must be improved, corruption free and ethical and efficient and innovative services.
They are demanding the immediate suspension of an employer who is allegedly abusing local residents.
The Waya Waya Community Movement stated that the Department of Home Affairs should be placed in a more functional state and to commit to values of how operations should be done.
They demand progress from the Department of Home Affairs Provincial Manager to give them feedback on a pile of grievances that were brought into her offices regarding a certain employee who has allegedly failed to uphold the values of the Department of Home Affairs as stipulated on several occasions for being abusive while rendering services to eMalahleni local residents.
They demand the employee to be removed from all Witbank Home Affairs Serving points with immediate effect.
She is also allegedly struggling with anger issues.
The Department of Home Affairs stated that they are aware of the situation and issues and have accepted the memorandum handed over.
“We were co-operative and we sat down and had a discussion with them. We asked to be afforded the opportunity to discuss the facts and requested evidence from them. We will make a follow-up and they have agreed to provide us with evidence. They presented their allegations, we are awaiting evidence and we will take it from there,” responded the management team, consisting of the acting provincial manager, the district manager as well as the office manager.
