Blankets presentation at Witbank Hospital

The staff of the Witbank Hospital were happy to receive blankets from Glencore and Kriel Power Station.

Executive mayor of eMalahleni Cllr Linah Malatjie indicated that the hospital was faced with huge challenges as it need to be revamped as some of the buildings are very old. She also said the hospital laundry was not functioning.

“We can say that we really appreciate our business partners that every time we came knocking on their doors, they respond positively. The first phase of the revamp of the hospital has already started and Anglo has raised their hands and committed themselves in contributing. We need more of these hands,” said the mayor.

She added to say that it makes a lot of difference in the lives of the people as they engage with the different stakeholders.

She said the challenges they have are better faced with the joining of hands.

“We want to improve the lives of our people in the province and we cannot do it alone. Witbank Hospital is now a referral hospital and that can be seen by the number of patients coming all over the province. We promise our people that the issue of service delivery will now be improved. We say thank you very much,” said Dr Mohangi.
