‘Paws’ before you leave an unwanted pet next to the road

Residents who find a stray cat or dog can drop them off at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in one of the safe and secure animal drop-off boxes.
“The drop-off boxes are easily accessible and located right in front of our new entrance,” said Insp Nicolous Mahlanga from the SPCA.
“It saves residents who find a stray cat or dog from having to phone around after hours, then wait for someone from the SPCA to come out and pick the animal up from them.”
Mahlangu said they check these drop-off boxes at various times during normal hours, and also each morning on weekends and public holidays.
