Gani Mining Supplies hit by bandits
The guard was held up at gun point, tied and seated inside the shop as the robbers carried out the robbery

It is unfortunate that you cannot sleep by your business, but for that reason you make sure to tighten up your perimeter and arm yourself with the best security company, however what do you do when that seems to be not enough?
This was the eminent question Gani Osman was faced with on the morning of Tuesday June 18, when he woke to the news that his shop, Gani’s Mining Supplies in Klipfontein, was broken into.
Speaking to WITBANK NEWS Osman told in detail of a crime which was sophisticated and well planned for.
“The security guard was patrolling the yard when he came across six males in balaclavas” he said.
The guard was held up at gun point, tied and seated inside the shop as the robbers carried out the robbery.
“They had everything they needed to cut through the roller shutter door and the store glass door” Osman explained.
The guys managed to get inside the shop and carry out the robbery without setting off the alarm system.
“It looks like they had someone with alarm system knowledge because they managed to get inside the shop without setting off the alarm” Osman said.
Upon inspection of his premises he found that the alarm battery had been disconnected and the CCTV computer box had been taken.
“They knew exactly what they wanted, they stole more than 50 CAT boots, along with the other expensive boots in the store, countless jackets and Sasol jackets that are very expensive” he said.
The value of possessions stolen along with the repairs which had to be carried out at the store amounts to an estimate of R400 000 said Osman.
“They gathered everything they wanted and placed it at the store front, then a bakkie came to carry it away. They made the first load and came back for a second” Osman elaborated.
The alarm system at the store was found to still be armed in the morning of the robbery said Osman.
