Rozelle Cloete’s art is filled with splashes of vibrant colour.

Her animal portraits came to life when she realised she lacked a ‘trademark’.
“Dali had his melting clocks and Picasso had his abstract portraits, but I didn’t have anything that made my art stand out as unique. People didn’t walk into galleries and say, ‘Hey! That’s a Rozelle!’” she said.
That was until she transformed her animal portraits from the epitome of realism to a form of abstract expressionism.
Where previously Rozelle’s paintings were filled with deep, earthy browns and natural blues and greens, they now suddenly contained little bursts of colour.
These colourful bursts of colour are a reflection of Rozelle’s bubbly nature.
On July 16 Rozelle was seen interviewed by Terese Benade on Kwêla.
“The post-production was awesome. There are so many technical aspects behind the scenes. I loved how everyone just knows how to do what and where,” she smiled.
Terese was overwhelmed by the portrait Rozelle did of her own dog.
