VIDEO: Baby giraffe receives care
The giraffe that seems to be a month old was found in a veldt, unable to stand up
Well just when you thought Witbank Veterinary Clinic has treated most animals, they land up with a baby giraffe.
No animal is too big or too small for Dr Nolan Landman and Dr Jaqui Hooton to treat.
Last week Landman received a call that there was a baby giraffe that could not stand up.
Landman and the two student vets from Australia headed out to Loskop area to find the giraffe.
The giraffe that seems to be a month old was found in a veldt, unable to stand up.
The giraffe was loaded into a big trailer and was brought back to eMalahleni to the clinic so Landman could start with treatment.
The giraffe was sedated and x-rays were taken, these x-rays have been sent away to a wildlife specialist so they can determine what is exactly wrong.
Once Landman receives the results he will start treating the giraffe.
But while they wait for the results, the baby giraffe is receiving the best care.
