Looks like eMalahleni residents struggle to read

As the nearby residents went and approached him, he was so arrogant and gave the people his business card and said, “If you have a problem, phone me on this number.”

A load of complaints were reported about illegal dumping this past week after WITBANK NEWS did an article on the illegal dumping all around eMalahleni.

“The worst part of everything is that the people will dump their rubbish in front of a board stating that no one may dump there and a fine of R1 000 will be given to people,” a frustrated resident told the WITBANK NEWS.

On August 31 a local man was spotted while dumping his black bags near the SPCA.

As the nearby residents went and approached him, he was so arrogant and gave the people his business card and said, “If you have a problem, phone me on this number.”

WITBANK NEWS gave this arrogant man a call and insisted that he should go and pick up his waste that he went and dumped earlier the day.

His argument was that he was only dumping his garden waste which was in black bags.

“Even though its only garden waste, it is still in a trash bag which means the next person will see the trash bag and think its okay to dump there,” the WITBANK NEWS explained.

The man went and removed his garden waste from the illegal dumping spot.

Municipal spokesperson, Mr Lebo Mofokeng concluded with, “In this case as we are still struggling with refuse removal members of the community should report the case to our Municipal Law Enforcement agency at 013 690 6222 or 6333.”
