eMalahleni had a very special guest this past weekend.
Freddie Oosthuizen is cycling more than 2 000 kilometres, to raise funds for charity.
Freddie had a stop-over in eMalahleni and experienced the hospitality the city of coal is known for.
When Freddie arrived on Saturday, October 5 he was offered a warm bed and hearty breakfast at Mystical Mansions.
Pizza Del Fourno spoiled him with a beautiful supper.
He left Newcastle late last week and plans to cycle to Cape Town in a quest to raise R100 000 for Home Meah.
The home is faced with financial difficulties and struggles to stay afloat.
Home Meah is registered with the Department of Social Development and in terms of the Children’s Act, provides temporary care for abandoned, neglected and abused babies.
“I am so overwhelmed with the city’s kindness and will always remember my stay in eMalahleni,” Freddie said before he started the next stretch early on Monday, October 7 that is taking him to Pretoria.
