Prison – Dube’s home for two years

Although Dube was set to be eligible for parole in December 2019 he still escaped and hid out for quite a while before he was tracked down by a task team consisting of Correctional Officers, SAPS and SACCW members

Following the article about Ndumiso Dube that WITBANK NEWS reported on an additional sentence was granted for the escapee.

WITBANK NEWS did an article on November 7 about 30-year-old Dube that was caught after escaping from Belfast Prison in August of this year and was re-arrested in eMalahleni.

“In August an alert was issued by the Belfast Correctional Services after the escape of Dube on August 29. He was charged on counts of housebreaking in June of this year and received an 18 month prison sentence. He was transferred from Paxton Prison to Belfast for a short term sentence but managed to escape after only 60 days,” the article stated.

Dube appeared in the Belfast court on November 15 where he was sentenced to an additional two years imprisonment for escaping;L his sentence is not to run concurrent with his previous sentence.
