An early miracle as four escapes injury

Emergency personnel and onlookers could not believe their eyes when the driver and his passengers climbed out of the vehicle with minor scratches

A man and his three passengers escaped serious injuries earlier this week when the BMW they were travelling in veered off the road and landed on a tree.

According to tow-in services on the scene on Monday, December 9 the man swerved out for a heavy vehicle and lost control of his vehicle on the N4 at the Olifants Bridge.

The vehicle rolled and landed on a tree in the Witbank Nature Reserve.

Emergency personnel and onlookers could not believe their eyes when the driver and his passengers climbed out of the vehicle with minor scratches.

The man could not be reached for comment.

Motorists using the N4 are urged to be careful of wildlife as the nature reserve’s fence was damaged in the accident.

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Ms Gabisile Shabalala is calling on motorists to be cautious when using the roads, especially during wet weather conditions.

She added that with increased vigilance on the part of motorists and other road users, crashes will be reduced during this holiday season and beyond.

Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele, has already launched the Safer Festive Season Operation at a national level and the Mpumalanga province began rolling out activities to ensure a safer festive season for all.
