Picking up the burnt pieces in Ogies
An arson case was opened by Ogies SAPS. The motive remains unknown.
Two stores and a bank situated in Ogies Central Business District (CBD) were reported as having caught fire recently.
WITBANK NEWS previously wrote that the fire was reported as having started early on Friday morning at approximately 03:40 on December 13.

One of the two stores that burned was Autozone. The manager, Esther Mlangeni said that at the moment the police were still investigating the matter and that the relevant insurance companies had been alerted about the matter.

“Insurance companies are left to handle their part of the case and to determine the amount of damage the fire has caused,” she explained, “our Autozone employees have been allocated to other Autozone branches.”
WITBANK NEWS tried to communicate with the owner of the building, however he was not available.
Ogies SAPS corporate communications officer, Constable Bhekuyise Ziqubu said the police are indeed still investigating the matter. He added: “We still encourage communities to come forward with any information they may have regarding the case.”
