WITBANK NEWS is excited to see if our local photographers managed to capture the beautiful Super Pink Moon.
In the early hours of April 8 the full moon was in its closest orbit to earth.
Astronomers say the moon was only 356 910 kilometres from earth.
There is a whole series of supermoons to follow with the last occurring on May 7.
The closest the moon will get to earth is predicted to be 356 447 km, which will occur on 6 December 2052.
April’s full moon is known as ‘pink moon’ because it coincides with early springtime in the northern hemisphere when the moss phlox (or pink moss) flower blooms.
Please share your Super Pink Moon photos with us.
If there are any photographers with tips on how to snap the best full moon photo, please share that with us as well.
