Balaclava-clad gang robs tuckshop during midnight robbery in Siyanqoba
Intruders broke through a tuckshop wall in Siyanqoba to rob the owner.
Witbank SAPS is investigating business robberies reported in eMalahleni within days of each other after armed suspects targeted local shops, threatening occupants and making off with cash, stock and other valuables.
According to the police, the latest incident occurred at a tuckshop in Siyanqoba during the early hours of September 23.
The owner was reportedly sleeping inside his shop when he was awoken by noises coming from outside the building at about 00:30.
The suspects allegedly struck the wall of the tuckshop until it collapsed, creating an entry point into the business. Two men wearing balaclavas entered the premises and pointed firearms at the owner while demanding money.
Moments later, four additional suspects entered the tuckshop and ransacked the premises.
The group allegedly stole stock before fleeing the scene. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported during the robbery.

Highveld Park shop targeted at gunpoint
The incident comes just days after another business robbery was reported in Highveld Park on September 19.
According to police, four armed men entered a shop at about 19:50. Three of the suspects allegedly concealed their identities with balaclavas while two were armed with handguns.
The suspects reportedly pointed firearms at two occupants inside the shop and ordered them to lie on the floor before forcing one of them to open the till.
Cash, several packets of cigarettes and two cellphones were stolen before the suspects fled the scene.
No arrests have been made in either robbery, and investigations are ongoing.
