Vulture still happy and snacking daily in eMalahleni

The latest footage of our visitor in Bankenveld was taken this afternoon.

In an instant a vulture put the City of Coal on the map.  The vulture that was seen snacking away at Bankenveld Nature Reserve has birdwatchers wishing this lockdown period away.

They will be then flocking to eMalahleni to meet this very rare bird.

The latest footage of our visitor in Bankenveld was taken this afternoon. This Egyptian Vulture caused a stir as it is the first time this species has been recorded on the Highveld of Mpumalanga.

Mr Dick Jacobs, owner of Vikela Game Breeders spotted the vulture on April 10.

Since then his phone does not stop ringing. From all over the country bird-enthusiasts are enquiring about the vulture’s well-being.

“The vulture looks content, healthy and enjoys the snacks it gets. We are trying our best to keep it happy,” Dick said.
