Filling the stomachs at shelter

Members of the Methodist Church Women Manyano Coalfields provided Sunday lunch in partnership with the office of the executive mayor of Emalahleni.

Members of the Methodist Church Women Manyano Coalfields together with the office of the executive mayor of eMalahleni provided Sunday lunch at Ethembeni Shelter.

 

 

The women group provided Sunday lunch in partnership with the office of the executive mayor of eMalahleni led by Ms Trudy Xhala Mavimbela representing the mayor. The shelter for the homeless is run by Bishop Jeremiah Zulu.

The lunch was provided on May 17 at the centre where some of the of boys were collected from the streets of the city.

Ms Xhala Mavimbela said that they were happy about the partnership as the same church had previously provided clothes and showed that they care for other people. She added to say that they also receive support from the office of the MEC of Social Development Ms Thandi Shongwe.

“We are here to show love, care and support to our people after the lockdown. We are family and together we can make a difference in the lives of other people.”

The women group said they thanked the Lord for the privilege as they do whatever the do they put Him first.

“We are happy to see an improvement in the lives of the group of boys and now they are living a happy life and were no longer involved in drugs and some of them were reunited with their families. ”
