Two robbers targeting homes

Allegedly the suspect threatened the homeowner with a knife and the other suspect started to remove items from the house

Two homes were robbed by two suspects on the same day.

A house in Nuweland Street was robbed at about 03:30 on Tuesday, June 2.

It is alleged by the owner that she was awoken by a loud bang that came from the bathroom.

“After I woke up I saw a man standing in my bedroom,” the victim explained.

Allegedly the suspect threatened the homeowner with a knife and the other suspect started to remove items from the house.

Two Hisense televisions, a Samsung computer monitor, two HP laptops and a Huawei phone were taken.

On the same day, at about 03:00 a man was in his house watching television when two robbers also made their arrival.

“As I was watching TV I could hear something by the door. I immediately thought that it was someone trying to gain entrance into my house,” the man explained.

Allegedly the homeowner saw that there were two suspects and he grabbed a stick to try and defend himself.

“I asked them to leave but they overpowered me and one threw a brick at me,” he further told.

The suspects managed to get away with a laptop, a watch, and a Huawei phone.

Cases have been opened at the Witbank Police Station and police are investigating.
