Songwriter is sending a positive message

He is planning to write more songs in the future sending out positive messages as he believes music is a universal language

The love of singing for Elijah Elias Masilela started at a very young age and developing it when he grew older.

He started singing at church at 11 years old and during ceremonies like weddings, parties and other events.

People started noticing him and he was asked to sing for them.

Recently he has composed a single titled ‘Covid-19’.

He said he wanted to pass a message to people to wear their masks, keep the social distance and to sanitize and wash their hands.

“Life has been difficult for most people in the country, a lot has lost their jobs, we have lost our loved ones through the pandemic, schools were closed and the economy of the country has been hit. Poverty is at its worse and it will take a long time for the situation to be normal. My message in the song is just to appeal to people to comply with the regulations and that God will help you go through the difficult period.”

Masilela said he was thankful to God for giving him the gift and he has put it to good effect.

He also thanked his friend, Malee Mahlangu who introduced him to Ikwekwezi FM who have played his song and has received good response from listeners.

He is planning to write more songs in the future sending out positive messages as he believes music is a universal language.
