WITBANK NEWS journalist, Zita Goldswain once again proofed that she is one of the country’s top community newspaper journalists and photographers.

Caxton Local Media has announced its top performers at the Caxton Awards for 2019 in a virtual presentation on Thursday, September 10.

This was an opportunity to acknowledge, for the 31st year, who the ‘top dogs’ are, with 30 winners emerging from the more than 1 200 entries received.

Zita showed that she is indeed one of the ‘top dogs’ and all-rounder in the group by ending up as one of the Top 5 best journalists in the Journalist of the Year category as well as Top 6 in the Photographer of the Year category.

She was also a runner-up in the Hard News Photo of the Year category and was announced one of the country’s Top 5 best column writers.

Mr Jaco Koekemoer, group executive of local newspaper publishing and commercial print, expressed his pride when he thanked ‘Caxtonites’ for their loyalty and diligence during a difficult year.

Apart from being a top performer at the Caxton Awards, Zita was also announced as one of the finalists in the Mpumalanga Sports Awards, presented by the Mpumalanga Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation.

Readers can vote for Zita to become Sports Journalist of the Year by voting for her.
