Celebrating World Rhino Day, let’s save these beautiful animals

The five species of rhinos include Black, White, Greater One-horned, Sumatran, and Javan

World Rhino Day was first announced by WWF-South Africa in 2010. The following year, World Rhino Day grew into an international success and since then it has been celebrated each year.

World Rhino Day is celebrated on September 22 and this year s the celebration of the five species of rhinoceros.

From a conservation perspective, the day raises awareness of the plight of these beautiful beasts.

The five species of rhinos include Black, White, Greater One-horned, Sumatran, and Javan.

While the poaching attacks on the World’s Rhinos continue, for how many more years will these species be around for us to celebrate?

Please stand with Saving the Survivors and support their teams on the ground and play your part in stopping the extinction of these ancient giants.

The teams of vets are battling in the dust and heat of Africa, to save the survivors and create hope from hurt.

Saving the Survivors started in 2012 to treat and care for the rhino that has fallen victim to poaching or traumatic incidents.

This includes rhino that has been wounded, rhino where the horn has been hacked off, as well as victims of snaring and other trauma.

It is estimated that between 80 and 120 animals per year will benefit from this project, and this number will sadly increase as the poaching problem escalates.
