FF Plus has reason to complain about sewerage in Olifants River

The constant ‘rape’ of the Olifants River came under the spotlight this past week when the Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) laid a complaint with the Department of Environmental Affairs, Land, and the Green Scorpions. The FF Plus has lodged a complaint with the acting chief director of Environmental Affairs, Land and the Green Scorpions in Mpumalanga, Ms Pamela Ntuli, about the constant and serious sewage dumping in the province. Mr Werner Weber from the FF Plus and Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) said this serious step is necessary as little is done to keep the river safe. Weber estimated that is 864 000l of raw sewerage enters the Olifants River every 24 hours. If the calculations are done the Olifants River has to struggle to survive the 26 million litres of sewerage running into it per month.
