‘Klipvrou’ returns to Safe Haven
In the first week of October calls from the community started coming in to Maureen Scheepers from the South African Community Crime Watch of Promise that seemed to be ill and in distress

Promise Ndlovu has finally agreed after numerous attempts to head back to her room at Ethembeni Safe Haven in Eznambeni.
In November last year, WITBANK NEWS reported on the rescue of the beloved local homeless ‘Klipvrou’.
Bishop Jeremiah and his team provided Promise with a room and everything she could ever need.
Unfortunately, when the national lockdown was implemented in South Africa, problems arose.
As many other South Africans felt the pressure from one of the lockdown regulations of the ban on the selling of cigarettes, Promise also felt the pressure.
After a few weeks with no more resources for cigarettes, Promise took a blanket and left her new home behind, back to her known spot in May of this year.
Numerous attempts were made to get Promise back to her room and off of the streets.
The team proceeded to clean the area where Promise had been living at for the last three months, but Promise was not having it.
She immediately stated that she had unfinished business on the streets and could not leave yet in August 2020.
In the first week of October calls from the community started coming in to Maureen Scheepers from the South African Community Crime Watch of Promise that seemed to be ill and in distress.
“I drove out to her spot and watched her for a while and saw that she kept falling to her side and lifting her arms, she was not in good health. I immediately contacted Bishop Jeremiah Zulu, and he gathered a team,” said Maureen.
Bishop Zulu and his team managed to convince the fragile Promise to return to the shelter where she could recover on October 12.
“We are happy to announce that Promise is back and finally safe and off the streets,” said Bishop Zulu.
If anyone would like to contribute towards the care of Promise at the home, they can contact Bishop Zulu on 072 356 1634 for arrangements.
“We will give her a few days to adjust and then attend to her medical needs, we would like to thank everyone involved,” Bishop Zulu concluded.
